Gabbriette posted from Charli’s Brooklyn concert showing off her ring, an Onyx black stone surrounded by pave diamonds, with the caption “MARRYING THE 1975 IS SO BRAT.” This is low-key the perfect engagement announcement for these two, considering Charli is kind of going to be Gabbriette’s sister-in-law (if you consider The 1975 as a brotherhood since Charlie is engaged to 1975 drummer George Daniel). It seems they may have held off announcing their engagement because of all the endless drama swirling around Matty’s 2023 tryst with Taylor Swift, which was a topic Taylor exhausted on many of TTPD’s 31 tracks, though their entanglement only lasted a few months.
