Life as a British royal means you’re constantly in the spotlight. So when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (or, Meghan Sussex, actually), made the move to the United States in 2020, it was a big deal. It was an opportunity for them to lead a more private life in their new home of Montecito, California. Of course, they’re staying busy with podcasts, Netflix series, and lots of jam, but besides that work stuff, they seem to keep things pretty chill as a family. Harry and Meghan are pretty private about their life with their two kids, 6-year-old Archie Harrison and 4-year-old Lilibet Diana.

“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats,” a source told PEOPLE in 2024. “He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”

On May 6, Meghan posted a photo of Archie for his 6th birthday on Instagram. She wrote, “Our son. Our sun.” I’ll fully admit that sweet caption brought tears to my eyes.

In March 2025, Meghan posted a video on Instagram of a little thumbprint cookie baking sesh. There are a few shots of Archie and Lilibet gettting in on the action, plus Harry offering a helping hand (or thumb, I guess).

International Women’s Day

In honor of International Women’s Day in 2025, Meghan posted a carousel of photos of the important women and girls in her life, including a shot of Lilibet with Harry.

2024 Holiday Card

At the end of 2024, Meghan and Harry released a holiday card that highlighted the work they do with their Archewell Foundation and Archewell Productions. But, the card also featured a pic of Archie and Lilibet running into their parents’ arms.
