On September 19, multiple sources told The Hollywood Reporter that Taylor Swift is “prepping to return to theaters” weeks ahead of her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. And yes, Taylor just confirmed that news. Swifties, remain calm.

During Taylor’s recent appearance on fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, she didn’t mention a movie. But she reveal that the album is coming out on October 3 and chronicles “what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during the [Eras] tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.” Since the album announcement, there have been 50 or so countdowns on her website for different Life of a Showgirl vinyls (that’s our capitalist queen).

THR described the project as “shrouded in mystery,” but we have answers now, thanks to Taylor’s announcement post! Her caption continued: “You’ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single ‘The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl ❤️‍🔥.”

Sooo, it’s a music video and some behind-the-scenes footage. The singer added, “Looks like it’s time to brush off that Eras Tour outfit or orange cardigan… Tickets are on sale now. Dancing is optional but very much encouraged 💃.”
