It’s a tragic time for people with crushes everywhere. Twitter, (actually called X now, but let’s be real, who’s actually calling it that) just announced that it would be removing users’ ability to see other people’s likes. And as soon as the announcement came, it went into action — people’s public “likes” tab on their profile disappeared.

For me personally, I’ve learned my lesson years ago about a.) checking a man’s social media and b.) being involved with a man who has a Twitter account in the first place. They’re both very slippery slopes and end in nothing but heartbreak, arguments, and pure insanity. But don’t get me wrong, back before Instagram got rid of its “following” tab, I too, indulged in mentally unwell behaviors. Getting rid of that tab was the best thing to happen for my mental health (as well as dumping the loser whose “likes” I was watching), but when it comes to Twitter, it’s kinda a different story.

Watching someone’s likes on Twitter gives you an idea of the type person they are — and more importantly, if that type of person is what you’re looking for. So now that the platform has gotten rid of the feature, everyone is having a panic attack. No, really. Here are some of the most dramatic, hilarious reactions to X’s update.
