When an ominous rumbling made its way through my apartment on the morning of April 5, my first thought was that I left some large, clunky object in my dryer. My second thought was to check Twitter. The website confirmed my embarrassingly-delayed suspicion: the East Coast had experienced an earthquake.
A 4.8 on the Richter scale, the earthquake happened near Lebanon, New Jersey. (Apparently NJ has fault lines?!) The rare seismic event was felt in Boston, Philadelphia and New Haven. But in an effort to make it completely about us, New Yorkers have been tweeting their asses off all morning. I canât wait for Californians to wake up and roast us within an inch of our lives.
If Iâve learned something about myself today, itâs that, in the face of natural disasters, I will turn to Twitter for answers. So, here are the best tweet reactions to the earthquake that shook Brooklyn to its core.
