When I’m trying to decide what to watch, there’s usually a list of movies or shows I scroll past because I need to wait for the “right season.” I tell myself I’ll save them for when the vibe is just right. Then, ironically, when that season finally arrives, I’m just not in the mood to watch them at all. And why should we force ourselves to watch anything, for even one moment, that doesn’t make us want to melt into the couch for the next eight hours?

For those of us who consider jump scares and slashers a form of torture, October is the perfect time to ignore the seasonal picks and just binge whatever brings us joy. I’d personally choose watching a reality show romance over an ax-wielding murderer any day. If you’re with me on that — or even if you love horror but just need a minute away from the gore — you’re in the right spot. The best part? You (probably) won’t need to hide behind a blanket to catch these Peacock Originals:

Queens Court

Hold onto your tiaras, because Queens Court is back in session for Season 2 with three new ladies! LisaRaye, K.Michelle, and London are on a journey to find love and we’re all hoping they won’t have to kiss any frogs before finding their kings. Hosts Holly Robinson Peete and Rodney Peete will help guide them as they let go of the past to find their royal match. (Okay, officially done with the royal puns section of this article). Streaming now on Peacock.

Anatomy of Lies

This series is diving into the wild world of Elisabeth Finch, a Grey’s Anatomy writer who pulled the ultimate ‘fake it till you make it’ stunt in Hollywood by claiming to have PTSD and cancer. This doc unravels the jaw-dropping story of how Finch was able to steal other people’s truths and write them into one of the most iconic shows of all time. My advice if you’re looking for a good drama? Pick this one, choose this one, love this one. (IYKYK). Streaming now on Peacock.

Reggaeton: The Sound that Conquered the World

Nowadays, we’ve got superstars like Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Karol G, and Bad Bunny dropping bop after bop. But this show takes us back in time and offers a much-needed history lesson about the epic rise of Reggaeton — born from the streets of Puerto Rico and fueled by a community that refused to quit. Streaming now on Peacock.

A Great Day With J Balvin

J Balvin has been uplifting us with his music for years, and now we’re joining him on a heartfelt journey as he opens up about navigating day-to-day life and overall wellness. He gets real with celebs, experts, and everyday people to explore ways to heal and find balance together. Streaming now on Peacock.
