There has been a lot of love for Taco Bell, an entire album, plus a deluxe version, of Benny-produced love songs, and plenty of interviews where the happy couple has repeatedly spilled tea on every step of their relationship together. Most recently, Benny told an interviewer how Selena would show up early and wait outside his house before dates, like 30 minutes early, because of how excited she was to hang. So it seems reasonable to assume that even from the early days of dating, the feelings were strong. But now, some fans are speculating online — with questionable evidence — about whether or not Benny and Selena might be facing some unexpected growing pains. The internet rumors follow Selena’s fandom, noticing that she unfollowed her longtime bestie, Theresa Maria, which some fans have conspiracy theorized could be related. By all accounts, Benny and Selena are still happily engaged. Benny was included (on the second slide) in Selena’s most recent photo dump from May 4, and their song “I Said I Love You First…And You Said It Back” is still promoted in her bio. For his part, Benny’s most recent IG post also includes Selena, as it’s an interview the pair did together. With all the hype around their relationship, stemming from the couple themselves, there’s no reason to believe they’re not still headed down the aisle.
Why do people think Benny and Selena broke up?
Rumors on TikTok alleged there could be relationship woes under the surface for Selena and Benny, without hard receipts to back any of it up. Selena’s fans also speculate that she unfollowed her “day 1” friend, Theresa Marie, who, according to The Daily Mail, was spotted at dinner with Benny. While it appears Theresa’s handle, tmarie, is currently no longer listed under Selena’s following, Instagram glitches do happen. As of March 2025, Selena and Benny agree that they have “no idea” when their wedding will happen because they’ve been so busy they’ve barely gotten to enjoy their time being engaged yet. As of now, Selena doesn’t “even know if [they] have time” to plan and host the ceremony between all of their work commitments from Only Murders In The Building to music, but she looks forward to their “casual” day.
