I planned to go to bed at 12:30 last night after listening to the six new songs on Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Deluxe. But when you hear some of the greatest music you’ve ever heard in your entire life, bedtime is an afterthought. You need hours to gasp, cry, process, and digest the bold lyrics, rich vocal arrangements, and avant-garde production. But Ari didn’t stop at six fucking genius new songs… She also just gifted us a whole 26-minute short film titled Brighter Days Ahead because she’s a generous, multi-talented queen. My god, was this cinematic masterpiece an emotional journey. Needless to say, there’s a lot to unpack: Here are all the easter eggs in Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine Deluxe Brighter Days Ahead film.
In the original Eternal Sunshine movie, Peaches gets her memories erased at the Brighter Days Inc. clinic. In Ari’s version, the clinic is now also offering “the preservation of happier memories.” Ariana gets to watch back her most meaningful, positive memories, but once a memory is relived, it is erased forever. An elderly Ariana chooses four memories to relive at Brighter Days Inc.
As part of “intro (end of the world)” plays, we see Ariana’s parents, young Joan Grande and Edward Butera, dancing together. We also see her maternal grandparents (her grandfather tragically passed away in 2014) and a tiny Ariana laughing and smiling with her family.
In the the 2004 Eternal Sunshine movie, Joel gives Clementine a necklace as a symbol of their bond and shared memories. Ari’s short film also features an important necklace! We see a flashback of little Ariana receiving the necklace as a gift from her father, who is the Brighter Days Inc. founder/doctor in Brighter Days Ahead.
Yes, the Brighter Days Inc. founder/doctor is played by Ariana’s real dad, Ed!! In the film, he attempts to piece his daughter back together after she’s been torn apart by stray cats (??). The operation is successful, of course.

When “supernatural” is playing, we get an image of Ariana that’s very similar to the cover of Eternal Sunshine Deluxe — her floating in a white dress.
