Refreshing Your Memory On All Things ‘Bridgerton’ Season 2

The slow burn that changed me forever.

Back to London and the Regency era we go, my fellow Bridgerton addicts. I hope you’re all ready for some more classical covers of pop songs and scandalous and sexy royal storylines, ’cause the first part of season 3 of the Netflix drama is now available for us to binge. Obviously, those four episodes are my only plan for this weekend because I’m in desperate need of Anthony and Kate, Penelope and Colin, and Penelope and Eloise updates. After all, it’s been quite a while since we got new episodes. The season 2 finale aired more than two years ago now… these Bridgerton people have really been on a mission to keep us starved.

Some of us have rewatched the first two seasons several times and could lead discussion groups about them at any moment. However, I understand that if you’re more normal, you may have only watched the previous seasons one to three times. If that’s the case, you might be scratching your head right now trying to remember how the fuck season 2 ended. Not to fear: I’m here to help remind you where we left off at the end of the season 2 finale. It was kind of explosive.

Anthony And Kate Finally Ended Up Together

After eight episodes of the most thrilling enemies to lovers arc I’ve ever seen in my life, Anthony and Kate finally ended up together — publicly. When the viscount first proposed to Kate, she declined and told him that she planned to move back to India. Buttt, then the soulmates shared a dance at the Featherington Ball, Anthony tried proposing again, and Kate gave him a yes the second time around. She teased: “You do know there will never be a day where you do not vex me?” Uggghh, I just wanna date a fictional character.

Eloise Found Out That Penelope Is Lady Whistledown

I apologize for reminding you of this devastating friend breakup. As you know, Penelope lives a double life as the iconic gossip writer, Lady Whistledown. Her bestie, Eloise, stanned the pamphlet and was determined to discover the writer’s true identity. After she started having a fling with the lowly Theo Sharpe, she realized that Lady Whistledown was using the print shop where he worked. Unfortunately, Queen Charlotte then assumed that Eloise was Lady Whistledown and Penelope quickly published mean gossip about Eloise to steer the queen away from that theory.

But then, Eloise did some clever girl math calculations and figured out that Penelope equals Lady Whistledown. She was real pissed and Penelope said she’d put an end to the gossip pamphlets but was unable to save the friendship. RIP.

Penelope Overheard Colin Talking Shit About Her

Have I mentioned that I hate men and they ruin everything? After Penelope obsessed over Colin for approximately ~forever~, he dismissed her with a cruel comment to his pals. Penelope heard Colin saying he’d never court a girl like her. Well, Colin, I’d never court a boy like you. So there.
