She’s accomplished more in 12 years of life than I have in 33. Taylen Biggs, the iconic red carpet reporter, is basically running Hollywood while the rest of us can’t even do our laundry without calling our moms for help.
The bubbly fashion influencer has interviewed the biggest names in the game. By day, she’s asking celebrities the questions we all wish we could, and by night she’s riding horses and building Barbie dreamhouses like a normal kid.

We caught up with Taylen to talk red carpets, dream interviews, and how she somehow manages to do it all with two Gs of big energy. Below, read our exclusive interview between Taylen and Betches Style Director Maddie Galassi!
Maddie Galassi:
You started modeling at 18 months old. What is the earliest fashion memory you have, even if you can't remember it?

Taylen Biggs:
Okay, I remember this one. At Jeremy Scott's show, I saw Cardi B and I went up to her and I just started waving. And she's like, "You're the cutest thing I've ever seen," with her phone. And that was a viral moment. And I think that's the earliest fashion memory I've ever had.

Maddie:
How old were you then?
Taylen:
Advert
I was 4!
Maddie:
4? Oh my God.
Advert
Taylen:
I think 4 or 3. In between that range.
Maddie:
Good first memory. Younger than most, for sure. When did you realize fashion and media were more than just fun hobbies, but a real career for you?
Taylen:
Well, I think I realized when I interviewed Kris Jenner because I came back from LA and was like, "Mom, this is something I really love doing." I used to do fast-paced interviews and I was like, "I want to do more long-form interviews." It's just something about it that I like more, sitting down and having more of a conversation with them. But I think that there was something that sparked and I was like, "Wait, this is something I really want to do." And I enjoyed it so much. And I'm like, "Let's do this." So here I am.
Maddie:
And here you are. Amazing. So your Instagram calls you a young visionary. What does that label mean to you?
Taylen:
It's about dreaming big and to actually do something about those dreams no matter how young you are.
Maddie:
For sure. Amazing. How would you describe your personal aesthetic in three words?
Taylen:
I would say confident, boss, and big energy with two Gs.
Maddie:
And everyone could have more of all three of those, I do feel. You have talked to stars like Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande. What is a question that you wish you could ask but haven't yet?
Taylen:
For Ariana Grande, I've been thinking about this one for a bit. That viral moment at the press junket where I gave the glasses, but I was not trying to do it in a rude manner. I was just fascinated by Cynthia's nails because I'd never seen them in person and I'm like, "Ah."
Maddie:
They're crazy.
Taylen:
Yes. And I just gave it to her. And I don't know if she laughed at that or when I said, "Okur." I don't know. It was at the exact same moment, so I really want to know that answer so everybody knows that I was not trying to be rude.
Maddie:
No, agreed. And that was such a fun moment. I saw that all on my socials and it was so much fun. What is a celebrity interview moment that has really surprised you?
Taylen:
I was at their first, well, not their first, but my first ring ceremony for [the NFL]. And I interviewed Travis, and I really want a long-form interview, but I asked him, "Describe your style in three words." And he said something and then fearless. I'm like, "Fearless?!"
Maddie:
And that's called an Easter egg. (I’m a Swiftie.)
Taylen:
Yeah, literally. So I think after a little bit, I'm like, "Wait." And then Taylor came out. I'm like, "Wait."
Maddie:
Hold on.
Taylen:
Hold on. Where were we? We need to go back. And I was like, "Oh."
Maddie:
I can't believe that happened.
Taylen:
So I think it surprised me a little later on than at the actual moment.
Maddie:
Wow, that's crazy. That's such a good one. How do you prepare for red carpet interviews when you're interviewing people so much older than you?
Taylen:
Well, research is the most important for the first part of the question. But 10 times older than me, for me, it's important... This is my little secret to having interviews. So basically what I do, I try to watch maybe a couple of things about them. Not so much where I know every answer they're going to give, but a little bit so I can understand them a little bit, their vibe in a way.
But when I go to them, I never want to go harsh into it because I don't know how they're going to feel. I don't know if they're more low energy or high energy, because I want them to feel comfortable. Because I do have to say, at the Selena Gomez interview, she made me feel some type of way. I felt safe sitting down with her and I want to give that feel to everyone, so that's why I never try to be like, "Oh!"
Maddie:
For sure.
Taylen:
I try to go calm, and if someone's more high energy, then I'll get into that vibe. And then I always try to level it out so the energy flows, so the interview sounds genuine and stuff. So I think that's my secret to having a good interview with people that are 10 times older than me.
Maddie:
And that's a good secret. What do your friends at school think about your Instagram and red carpet life?
Taylen:
Okay, so I'm actually homeschooled. And I have a very small circle around me, and they cheer me on and support me, and those are the people I want to be surrounded by. They support what I do and I'm very appreciative of it. And even when I come back home, my friend Gigi, she's like, "OMG, welcome home, Tay." She's always so welcoming and just makes me feel good. It's just, I have my little group that I have part of my life and that they are very sweet.
Maddie:
That's something that is nice to maintain. What is one thing that people assume about your life that's totally wrong?
Taylen:
Okay, I'm excited for this question because everybody thinks I'm not a kid, and that is absolutely not true. I am home playing Barbies. I'm a Barbie girl. If someone wants to go play Barbies, we're going to go play Barbies. I'm just that girl. And me and my sister ride horses. I'm a kid. I do things. I have siblings, we play.
And also another thing, I think a lot of people think I have rich parents, which is not true. I came from very humble beginnings. All of my siblings and my mom and dad slept in the one room all together. So I think those are two of the main things that people don't know about me.
Maddie:
Those are good answers. What is one dream interview that you are hoping to make happen?
Taylen:
I think everybody knows this answer in this room. It's Taylor Swift.
Maddie:
Of course.
Taylen:
Yeah, she's the one. Yeah, that's an easy answer. Taylor Swift.
Maddie:
And that's a tough one because she's not on that many red carpets! Sometimes she's not around.
Taylen:
I want a long-form interview though, an exclusive one, rather than just a quick one because I want to know what's in her brain. And she's such a mastermind herself. That would just be iconic.
Maddie:
Did you go to the Eras Tour?
Taylen:
Oh, yes.
Maddie:
Which era did you dress for, if any?
Taylen:
I dressed for the Chiefs. I did red and yellow bows and then a jersey.
Maddie:
That was a fun one. That was on theme. Do you see yourself doing more than fashion, like acting, producing anytime in the future?
Taylen:
Oh, yes. I definitely see me designing. I could definitely see my show in New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week. I think I definitely see myself there. I see the big picture. I see my looks coming down the runway. That is something that I want to happen.
And also acting for me. I love it so much because it's a way of exploring with yourself. It's actually really cool because you get to experience different sides of yourself and you may like, "Wait, I didn't know I could do that." And you just explore your soul, and I think acting is so much fun for that. And it honestly helps with different things too.
Maddie:
Absolutely. Yeah, I feel like in all facets of life, confidence, everything.
Taylen:
Yeah. And even producing is fun too, because I may want to produce my own show or maybe a movie. I'm not just a person that wants to be boxed in one thing. I just want to try everything.
The other day I was like, "Mom, I want to cook something for the family." She's like, "Okay." I was like, "I'm very open to do things." I'm like, "I want to try this. I want to try that. I want to do this." I love everything.
Maddie:
And that's a really good mentality to have! Lastly, what is one piece of advice you would give to other people who want to make media or fashion their career path?
Taylen:
Shine from within. My mom always tells me this. And always stay true to yourself. Be you. That's what makes you authentic. And I also feel like dream big, and no dream is ever too big.
