I am praying so hard for Jennifer Lopez right now. I know girlie is a controversial figure these days what with the cringe documentary and the not-super-nice response to a reporter at the Met Gala, but I still don’t want her to have to go through a fourth divorce! Especially considering how much she’s built up Bennifer 2.0 over the last few years. There have been multiple Bennifer weddings, an album about their love story, a truly bizarre movie about their love story with random celeb cameos, and the unfortunate documentary about making that movie. Now, J. Lo’s about to embark on tour and sing all her I Love Ben hits. Sooo, it would not be good if her relationship with him is over.

I get why she’s been so inspired by the relationship. It’s kind of an iconic story, getting back together in your 50s after ending an engagement twenty years prior. But despite the epic reunion and all the Bennifer-focused art from J. Lo, there are some sad divorce rumors going around. Did Jennifer and Ben actually break up… again? Although they recently went seven weeks without being photographed together, it is not confirmed that J. Lo and Ben are headed for divorce. The singer and actor have notably continued to wear their wedding rings out and about and they were photographed in a car together on May 19. J. Lo also briefly brought up Ben during her May 20 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She recalled Barbra Streisand commenting on her engagement ring from Ben two decades ago.

That all being said, the divorce rumors are still swirling. A source told Page Six that Ben really wants one. “If there was a way to divorce on grounds of temporary insanity, he would,” they claimed. “He feels like the last two years was just a fever dream, and he’s come to his senses now and understands there is just no way this is going to work.” Um, yikes.

Well, a few insiders spilled the Bennifer crisis tea to People. “They just have very different approaches when it comes to media attention,” one source said. “Ben hates all attention and it makes him very uncomfortable. Jennifer has always had a different approach.” Yes, that much I gathered from the *interesting* The Greatest Love Story Never Told documentary.

A second source who’s in the film industry explained that although Ben admires J. Lo’s intense work ethic, it can also create tension. “It doesn’t make him happy and causes stress in his life and then in hers,” the insider said. “There is no question their different styles clash.” I mean, yes, it’s obvious that he wishes his relationship was actually the greatest love story never told.

On May 20, J. Lo attended the premiere of her Netflix sci-fi film Atlas — by herself. However, she was wearing her wedding ring while posing on the red carpet. And Ben’s absence can be explained by the fact that he’s currently filming The Accountant 2. J. Lo also recently attended the Met Gala sans her husband. Hmmm.

On May 22, J. Lo answered questions about her new movie Atlas at a Mexico City press conference. One journalist there decided to go rogue and ask her about the Ben split rumors instead. Someone off-camera immediately chimed in, “Okay, we’re not doing that.” J. Lo laughed awkwardly, cringed, then leaned forward and said, “You know better than that.” Uhhhh… that was not a denial.
