Gypsy was released on December 28, 2023, eight years after pleading guilty to the second-degree murder of her mother in July 2016. She was sentenced to 10 years but was granted parole after serving more than seven years. Nick Godejohn, her boyfriend at the time, was also charged with murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole for killing Dee Dee in her Springfield, Mo. home.
