I totally understand that love is supposed to be blind and all, but how can it be when Freddie has such an adorable perfect angel baby face I just want to squeeze? The Love Is Blind UK cast had huge shoes to fill considering the US version’s multiple seasons of demonic behavior and traumatic breakups, and yet they still managed to entertain TF out of me while finishing the experiment with class. How British. Though I’m overwhelmingly impressed by the level of emotional regulation and (sorry I have to say it) mindfulness of the men on this show (well at least most of them), none have warmed my ice-cold reality TV-loving heart quite like Freddie Powell. I am rarely if ever one to defend a m*n, but every time Catherine sniped at the sweet little homebody funeral director who just wanted to enjoy Sunday roast with his family instead of late nights at Cirque, I silently wished for one (just one!!!) of her gorgeous little eyelashes to fall out. It’s no secret that Freddie said no at the altar, but I might be a teeny tiny bit curious if Mr. Mans in his formal waistcoat is back to swiping on the apps yet. Is Freddie from Love Is Blind UK single? I have some news.
Yes, Freddie told Netflix that following his separation from Cat, he was voluntarily still single (despite how quickly his ex-fiancé seemed to move on). This was still the case when he spoke about his dating status on the August 26, 2024 reunion. If Freddie’s Instagram content is any indication, he’s been spending the last year laying low, hanging with family, and spending time with some of his LIB bros including fellow unproblematic king Benaiah.
Were you even watching if you have to ask? Freddie’s naturally goofy, sunshiney energy came off as a constant “wind-up” to Catherine who wanted to be sure her man was 100% locked in. Even Freddie’s sister shared at the reunion that while she could tell their connection was real, she could also see Freddie was holding himself back when watching the full episodes a year after the wedding. Ultimately Freddie felt he couldn’t give Catherine the life she really wanted. Freddie explained that he felt bad for giving Catherine earrings on her wedding day which made it seem like he was going to say yes, but at the same time felt he had to do the gesture to show how much he really did love her even if it wasn’t their time. Despite Catherine telling Netflix that Freddie hid a “different side” off camera that justified her obvious “insecurity,” both seemed much happier as friends on the reunion couch.
Catherine isn’t letting the fact that it didn’t work out with her prince stop her from being courted. She’s now dating Jake, who was barely featured as a side character on the show, but actually got engaged on Love is Blind UK though the relationship didn’t make the final cut. Honestly, it looked like Catherine had her eyes on Sam at the mixer so this is better than expected. Catherine is holding off from blasting Jake on social media for the moment given the negative fan response she’s gotten.
