Kate Middleton Reveals She Has Cancer, Is Undergoing Chemotherapy

Mid-day on Friday, March 22, Kate Middleton posted a video on her Instagram explaining why she has been missing from the public eye for the past several months. The world has been questioning her whereabouts, with theories taking over every aspect of social media. From speculation about possible surgeries to affairs and outrageous accusations towards the royal family, Kate’s status has taken over both pop culture and world news conversations for the past month. Sadly, the news is far worse than anyone imagined. In a video released on Kate’s Instagram, Kate Middleton announced that she has cancer and has been going through chemotherapy.

In the video, 42-year-old Kate states she learned her diagnosis after undergoing “major abdominal surgery” back in January at the London Clinic.

She says to the camera, “The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy and I am now in the early stages of that treatment. This of course came as a huge shock, and William and I have been doing everything we can to process and manage this privately for the sake of our young family.”

Kate goes on to imply the main reason she’s taken a step out of the public eye is to properly explain everything to her three young children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

“As I have said to them, I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal in my mind, body and spirits.”

The Princess of Wales asks for privacy during this time, understandably. Kate’s shocking diagnosis comes only a few months after King Charles revealed he was battling cancer.

Earlier in the day, TMZ reported that Kensington Palace would be making an official statement about Kate Middleton’s current health status. Apparently, the British media was briefed on Kate’s condition and it was confirmed that there would be a video of Kate Middleton herself speaking on what has been going on with her.

The announcement comes after months of speculations regarding Kate’s whereabouts. Most recently, Kate was spotted seemingly happy and light out at a Farm Shop with Prince William. People have been quick to question the legitimacy of the photos, wondering if it is Kate’s doppleganger or another mysterious photoshop incident.
