Like, I can only make fun of them so much, considering my IQ is nowhere near theirs. (Notice how I did not include Leo Braudy in that list. Inheriting a rich business doesn’t wow me, and I’ll gladly make fun of this unhinged narcissist x art man every time I get the opportunity.) I’m particularly fascinated by Marissa’s resume — she revealed in the pods that she spent seven years in the Navy before becoming a lawyer, and yet, she’s low-key the most smiley, fun-loving, chill girlie in the cast. What Was Marissa’s Role In The Navy?

In her LinkedIn bio, Marissa writes: “I am a proud HBCU alumnus of Savannah State University and the University of Maryland Francis Carey Law School in Baltimore. Prior to pursuing my legal education, I dedicated 7 years of my life to serving in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Surface Warfare Officer.” Bohdan served as a marine, so he and Marissa were able to bond over their similar experiences and values.

Throughout her time in the Navy, the Love is Blind star served as a Naval Officer, a Main Propulsion Officer, an Administrative Officer, a Training Officer, and a Non-Medical Case Manager. Per her role descriptions on LinkedIn, Marissa’s responsibilities in the Navy ranged from managing gas turbine systems, to developing a comprehensive shipboard training program, to guiding wounded warriors through recovery and rehabilitation. She’s obviously brilliant and caring, which you can totally tell from the show.

What Is Marissa’s Job Now?

These days, Marissa’s a lawyer at Jackson Lewis P.C. in Baltimore, Maryland. She’s a graduate of University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Understandably, she’s passionate about politics because she spends so much time thinking about laws. Marissa brought up politics in the pods (she and Bohden both are more on the liberal side) and has been open up about her beliefs in interviews. When I spoke with Marissa, she shared that a major red flag for her is when guys “are just not aware of anything beyond themselves, women’s rights, things that are happening overseas, and politics.” Retweet.

After previously dating a Trump supporter, Marissa realized that her forever person really needs to share her political views. “We’re making laws that really impact people’s lives,” she explained to Today. “It’s really important to me to be with somebody who wants to raise kids with an open mind and who takes a part in their society and in their country.” She gets it.
