Let’s face it: this is the best season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. I’ll admit, I’m still a little miffed Monica Garcia’s story was cut short because, boy, did that betch have something to say. But hallelujah, the remaining cast members have stepped up to make season 5 one to remember (I mean, everyone except Heather Gay and her zero storylines, but that’s a different rant). While Lisa Barlow has been going to the distance on her high-maintenance friend drama, Bronwyn has been overachieving against Todd’s will in Moschino, and Mary Cosby has completely flipped the script by getting candid about her family life. Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Jr. was openly struggling with addiction, which culminated in a raw scene captured by Bravo’s cameras. In the touching moment that has inspired viewers and Bravolebs around the world, Robert opened up about his struggles with prescription drugs and suicidal ideation. Since season 5 was filmed in early 2024, fans are eager to hear how Mary’s son is doing today and thankfully Mary has good news. Here’s the latest update on Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Jr.

An Update On ‘RHOSLC’ Robert Cosby Jr.

Did Mary’s son, Robert Jr., go to rehab?

Yes, Mary confirmed on a December 4, 2024 episode of Watch What Happens Live that Robert Jr. completed a month of rehab. The RHOSLC star said Robert Jr. “did an excellent job” and “came out a new person.” Robert’s progress has made Mary “so proud” of her son who she called her “friend, son, [and] gift” after Robert admitted he’d be using prescription pills mixed with other recreational drugs since he was 16 on season 5 of Salt Lake City. The 21-year-old had previously gotten a DUI in 2022.

Did Robert Jr. consent to being on camera?

As Mary detailed on WWHL, both she and Robert Jr. knew the nature of the discussion they were going to have on camera even though “[Robert] didn’t plan what he was going to say, and [Mary] didn’t plan what [she] was going to say.” Instead, they both just “said what they felt” in the hopes their honesty was “gonna help somebody.” With the scene aired and Robert Jr. out of rehab, it seems the entire Cosby family, including Robert Sr., is moving forward with positivity about the difficult situation. When Andy Cohen asked if Mary was scared to tell her husband what had been going on, Mary shared she was not because “she needed him” as Robert Sr. had experience with drugs in his youth that could help their son.

Is Robert Jr. still married?

Yes, Robert Jr. is still married to Alexiana, who appeared on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Mary revealed that Alexiana is still in rehab as of December 2024.
