Are We Getting Olivia Rodrigo’s Next Album Soon? A Livie Analyzes Popular ‘OR3’ Theories

It's giving red and it's giving 'LUCK.'

If you’re chronically online and have good music taste, you’ve probably seen about a trillion videos of Olivia Rodrigo fucking crushing it at Lollapalooza Chile and Lollapalooza Argentina. Some people were just born to be a superstar and she is one of them. (I say this as a totally unbiased individual who has definitely not made Olivia’s discography and style her entire personality.) It’s been about a year and a half since Olivia released her iconic sophomore album, GUTS, and the Livies are starving for more. I know this queen likes to take her time with songwriting and recording, but respectfully, I need OR3 right now. While we wait for the official third album announcement, we might as well discuss all the popular theories. When is it coming out? Is it gonna be called LUCK? Here are all the theories about Olivia Rodrigo’s third album.

Olivia Rodrigo OR3 Album Theories: LUCK, Red, Hints From Lollapalooza

When Is Olivia Rodrigo’s Third Album Coming Out?

I regret to inform you that she hasn’t announced one yet. However, as an Olivia expert, I’m thinking we can expect OR3 this summer. Olivia released GUTS a little over two years after she released SOUR, so I’m estimating another roughly two-year waiting period between the GUTS and OR3. (GUTS came out in September 2023.)

To be eligible for the 2026 Grammys, Olivia would have to release her next album by August 30 the latest, hence my summer theory. It’d be surprising if our Grammy darling skipped two Grammys cycles in a row. Not to mention, Olivia’s going on a festival tour all summer, and why do that if you already toured your last album and you’re not planning to promote any new music?

Is Olivia Rodrigo’s Third Album Titled LUCK?

Olivia’s a four-letter, all-caps title queen, and she’s already confirmed that she plans to keep that going. Since she’s madly in love with a British actor this time around, it’s probably gonna be a happy four-letter word. I dare say LOVE would be too on the nose.

At the moment, fans are convinced that OR3 is titled LUCK. Livie detectives have noticed that Olivia’s really into ladybugs and polka dots recently —both symbols of luck. (In Filipino culture, polka dots are thought to bring luck and prosperity.) Also, Olivia called herself the “luckiest girl alive” in her Instagram post celebrating her 22nd birthday.

Why Fans Think Red Is The OR3 Color

SOUR and GUTS are both purple, so it’s definitely time for a new album color. I really feel like OR3 is giving red. Red is the color of love, of course (and I’m assuming this is gonna be a love album), but Olivia’s also started introducing more and more red throughout the GUTS era. It’s probably not a coincidence! She’s a Taydaughter, after all.

Olivia wore that gorge red bodysuit during her GUTS world tour set, stunned in a glossy red minidress at her most recent Tonight Show appearance, and of course, we must discuss the sickening Lollapalooza fits. At Lollapalooza Chile, she gagged us all in a lace-up cut-out red leather leotard. Then, at Lollapalooza Argentina, she opted for a bright red leather two-piece set. If OR3 isn’t red, I shall be shocked.
