Is It Bad I’m Excited Some Of The ‘Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard’ Boys Are Leaving?

Is more Simon an option?

It’s been a wild few weeks on Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard from horseback riding to the Brichella birthday bash of the year. If we didn’t know the MV crew was the hardest working cast on Bravo before, they made sure to let us know with Summer Thomas’ epic meltdown all through the house while Shanice and Bria hid in the bathroom, snacks included (someone get that girl a to-go pack of tissues and a stress ball). With the addition of southern belle Noelle this year, the Martha’s Vineyard cast is stacked with six incredible ladies I could watch lay around the pool all day and still, unlike their predecessors from the original Hamptons flavor, this crew delivers elaborate drunken talent shows, heated game nights, and real-life learning lessons far more than lounge time. Their hard work has paid off since they’ve earned a season 2 reunion. But apparently, some of the guys have not been clocking in and working overtime as much as their female counterparts, and the casting gods have noticed. The SH: MV team is actively looking for male leads so while they sweep the nation for a suitable match, let’s speculate who is leaving Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard for season 3.

Nick Arrington

Prediction: Returning part-time (if he cares about this relationship)

Advert

Reason: Nick is everyone’s preppy fave, but sometimes he spreads the love a little too much. If I was Nick’s long-term girlfriend and saw a second season of him basically forgetting that I existed, I’d probably want him to get a little social distance from the house filled with gorgeous gal pals. I could see Nick living somewhere else on the island and coming to hang, instead of filming full-time, to restore some faith in his relationship. Or, you know, breaking up altogether, because you know how men are.

Amir Lancaster

Prediction: Staying

Advert

Reason: Amir is also wifed up this as of last summer but unlike Nick, Amir can’t stop talking about his fiery GF Natalie (to the point that I’m sure some people, myself included, want him to). I think they’ll figure out a way to make the distance work next summer if they’re still together. I can’t see Amir leaving the show and frankly, I don’t want to tune in without his goofy smile greeting me on the screen.

Preston Mitchum

Prediction: Staying

Advert

Reason: Does this even need explaining? SH: MV wouldn’t be the same without Preston acting as the voice of reason in the house. Preston also happens to be a hilarious pop-culture king who always brings his unique POV to the conversation with elegance and grace. Hail King Preston, I refuse to believe he’s going anywhere.

Alex Tyree

Prediction: Leaving

Advert

Reason: Alex has all the ingredients to be a Bravo heartthrob including being related to John Legend but does virtually nothing with it. Alex is a player who doesn’t like to play, at least not on camera. Even though he and Summer have been… well you know the rest, he treated her like a vague acquaintance when they returned to the house this summer, not a viable romantic option or even an ex-flame. He shut down Noelle in a 60-second conversation. His only memorable platonic interaction with the other women is putting Shanice’s legal troubles on blast. He’s a single guy who doesn’t flirt and isn’t a close friend of any of the ladies either, so if getting rid of Alex makes room for someone more game, I’m all for it.
