These Extra-Wide Boots Have Arrived *Literally* Just In Time For Fall

I know that we’re still in the depths of a particularly swampy summer, but hear me out — fall is coming. Warm apple cider on a crisp day! Football! BOOTS! After six months of flip flops my wardrobe is ready for a return to the cozy comfort of my favorite fall boots and all of the ‘fits I can rock with them.

The call to fall fashion seems to be a little louder this season thanks to Dolce Vita. The brand has come out with more inclusive sizing for a collection of its fall boots — including extra wide for the big-calf girlies. (*Raises hand to the sky.*) I can’t tell you how many times I have gone to put on a pair of cute, high-knee boots only to have them NOT zip up my calf. But Dolce Vita’s new Extra Wide sizing provides up to 21.7 inches in circumference, depending on the style. And this is something they’ve been working on for a while. Since 2019, Dolce Vita has been adding more inclusive styles by chatting with experts, gathering influencer feedback, and holding fitting sessions to ensure their prototypes are feeling as good as they look; All so those of us who never forget leg day can take on fall in style.

Need some inspo? Here’s how I plan on styling some of my fall boots:

Moody Tones

When I saw these Gyra boots in this dark brown suede, I immediately imagined them paired with a sweet midi skirt. The stiletto heel dresses up the casualness of this cashmere sweater perfectly and the silk scarf serves multiple purposes. It can be tied up in your hair on a windy day, wrapped around your neck if the weather dips, or tied on your bag for a pop of color.

City Slicker

I love the contrast of a black leather boot and a dainty top, which is what makes this look work so well. These Augie boots are both toughened up and chic, and paired with a white button-up shirt dress, they offer a little edge to an otherwise preppy look. Toss a striped sweater over your shoulder for a cute accent that is also functional — you can slip it on when the weather suddenly chills.

Western Whimsy

Is there anything cuter than a western-inspired bootie? I love these Raj boots paired with a fully denim midi dress and some oversized sunglasses. And instead of a cowboy hat, grab a felt fedora instead. It will keep the autumn sun out of your eyes!

The Big Chill

The trick to a statement boot, like these metallic Ryatt beauties, is to keep the rest of your look ultra-chill. Curl into your favorite worn-in sweatshirt and light-washed denim for a look that’s à la Princess Diana. The mixed metal, chunky necklace adds a wink to the silvery boots for a look that just oozes casually cool.

Weekend Warrior

Behold: My formula for those Sundays where you’re running from yoga class to the farmer’s market to a bar to watch the game. I like to just toss an oversized shirt over my unitard and shove my greasy hair under a cute cap. These Dolce Vita Glory H20 booties not only pull the look together and make it intentional, they’re also waterproof — perfect for those fall days when the weather changes every 30 minutes.
