Aidan Shaw and Carrie Bradshaw have been through a lot together through all their years of Sex and the City and And Just Like That… But I don’t know if anything has been as harrowing as that phone sex scene from the premiere episode of And Just Like That… season 3. Let’s be real, even in the best relationships phone sex can be difficult to pull off. But the phone sex scene between Carrie and Aidan was so incredibly awkward, with Aidan practically begging and Carrie faking it. Seriously, the unsexiness is still haunting me days after watching episode.
After that Carrie and Aidan scene, I started racking my brain trying to remember the good times between them. There was a time when Carrie and Aidan were the epitome of romance, when SATC fans couldn’t get enough of them (as long as they weren’t on Team Big). Aidan has moved in and out of Carrie’s life, not once, not twice, but four times over the course of the two TV series and two movies. So there are plenty of Aidan moments to mine for real romance and chemistry. Here are the best Carrie and Aidan moments from Sex and the City.
“His name was Aidan Shaw. He was warm, masculine and classic American. Just like his furniture.” That’s how Carrie describes Aidan when she first meets him in Season 3. Aidan has Carrie run her fingers over one of his furniture pieces, and when their hand touch, it’s honestly the kind of meet cute great romances are made of.

When Carrie and Aidan first start seeing each other, he takes things slow, which throws Carrie off. But Aidan tells Carrie he just wants to be romantic with her, and he really comes through with a candlelit bath just for her.
Carrie, the Queen of Anxious Attachment, gets worried that she and Aidan are spending too much time together, so she pulls away. And Aidan, the prince that he is, simply says “okay” and gives her space. His easygoing methods work since Carrie then decides she’s actually ready to meet Aidan’s parents.

Of course, Carrie can’t keep a good thing going. She cheats on Aidan with Big, and they break up. But then in season 4, Carrie and Aidan meet again when Aidan opens a bar with Steve. Carrie decides she wants Aidan back, and he turns her down at first. Well, he doesn’t turn her down as much as he iconically shouts “You broke my heart!” from his window. But, then he changes his mind and gives Carrie a rom-com moment by tossing pebbles at her window to let her know he’ll give their relationship another go.
This is more of a moment between Aidan and Miranda, but it shows just what a good guy Aidan really is. When Miranda falls in her bathroom and calls Carrie for help, Carrie can’t make it over, so Aidan goes in her place. Not only is he good to Carrie, but also to her friends. Truly, boyfriend goals!
