After just two years and change of purported marital bliss, it seems The Real Housewives of Miami’s Alexia and Todd Neppola are calling it quits. We’ve seen Alexia go through a million ups and downs during her six seasons on the sleeper hit, so we know just how much work the Cuban Barbie has put into keeping her dream guy happy, and can only hope Marysol is already on her way to comfort her bestie with an ice-cold cocky. While Alexia always seemed hopeful and protective of her relationship with the real-estate developer, red flags have been quietly waving in the distance for some time now. Here’s everything that led to Alexia and Todd’s split from their postponed wedding to the recent divorce filings.
Alexia said “yes” to the man of her dreams, after years of living the whirlwind Miami romance she’d always dreamed of. By the time the Miami reboot kicked off, her betrothal to Todd was a done deal. Alexia had met her fiance not long after her divorce from her second husband, Herman Echevarria, who had passed away just before filming resumed.
Alexia was originally planning an extravagant affair designed by cast-mate Guerdy Abraira but unfortunately had to cancel her first wedding date due to the death of her mother, Nancy. While Nancy always thought Todd was her daughter’s perfect match, Alexia was navigating serious friction between her fiancé and her eldest son, Peter, who were at explosive odds over the care of her younger son, Frankie. The family eventually made tentative peace before their delayed nuptials took place. The couple also had time to sign a last-minute prenup only days before their wedding, the details of which have remained private, which raises eyebrows given recent news.
On the divorce filings instigated by Todd, he describes the marriage as “irretrievably broken,” which is in direct contrast to the strong front the couple put on throughout season 6 of RHOM. They’d been accused of trying to cover up severe financial woes that caused them to ditch their expensive apartment on short notice, according to rumors shared by Alexia’s “Fiyah” frenemy, Adriana de Moura. Todd also turned heads by avoiding filming in support of Alexia’s biggest events on camera, later blaming his disappearance on the women’s drama instead of marital turmoil. The Neppolos claimed to be in a good place at the reunion, despite resurfaced tensions with Peter, but her friends’ claims there had to be more to the story have now proven to be true.

Just hours after the news of Todd’s filing broke, Alexia has taken to Instagram to address the break-up head-on. She is “shocked and heartbroken” at the divorce that she firmly labels as Todd’s choice, and is “praying for better times ahead” with the support of her “friends and family…by [her] side” through this “difficult time.”
