Jax And Brittany Are Separating And I’m Going To Need To Take A Personal Day

Devastated is an understatement.

There was obviously a time when the thought of Jax Taylor settling down and being a good, responsible partner was just a punchline. But once sweet-as-apple-pie Brittany Cartwright came into his life, we collectively starting singing a different tune. Well, after we stopped singing, “I just got rich, I may cop a black Wraith, does everyone remember when Jax fucked Faith?” Sorry, it kind of slapped. Seriously, though, when Jax and Brittany walked down the aisle at that Kentucky castle, I can’t be the only one who thought it was actually going to last… But, sadly, after four years of marriage, Brittany Cartwright announced her separation from Jax Taylor on their joint podcast When Reality Hits on February 29, which will henceforth be known as The Leap Day To Remember.

There have been some rumblings of an impending split for the last few months… but most fans just chalked it up to a PR move to promote their new Bravo series, The Valley, which premieres on March 19. But Brittany’s announcement certainly feels more legit than a PR stunt.

Why Did Jax and Brittany Split?

During the final moments of the podcast episode, Brittany said to followers, “Many of you guys have been asking me about Jax and I and our relationship. I just think it’s important to be real and honest with you guys because we’ve shared so much of our lives with you guys. On my last podcast I alluded to many marriages go through rocky times. Yes, marriages in general are very hard and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year. Jax and I are taking time apart and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”

Brittany said she didn’t want to get into specifics regarding the split (Is she saving it for TV or is she actually keeping it close to her chest? Unclear.), adding that it is “still very hard to talk about.” Jax and Brittany share a 2-year-old son named Cruz.

She goes on to say, “I’m taking one day at a time. I don’t know what the future holds, but right now my focus is on being the best mom to Cruz.” Brittany ended the podcast by asking fans to “pray for us,” saying that she truly believes “everything will be just fine” no matter the outcome.

At this rate, there will be no Bravo couples by the end of 2024. Please just keep Paige and Craig, Joe and Melissa, Marg and Joe, and Ken and Lisa in your thoughts and prayers.
