If you had asked me a few weeks ago if Love Is Blind‘s “All Day” and “O-Clay” had marriage potential, I probably would’ve laughed. I mean, AD is a gorgeous, classy, ambitious badass, and Clay, though handsome and charming, is a Textbook Fuckboy. AD said herself that she’s a “fix-a-hoe” and can’t resist helping men improve themselves. She sort of wound up with Clay by default after Matthew fucked up worse with her than he did. So, no, I did not have super high hopes for Clay and AD from the get-go.

That being said, these two do have fire chemistry and make each other happy. In the latest episode, Clay and AD have a great time painting sneakers together, and Clay gets giddy about becoming a father soon. “I feel good,” he reassures her in episode 11. “I feel like I got so much stronger with you, with this process.” Can a man who ~struggles with commitment~ really change over the course of a few weeks or months? Based on experience, I have my doubts, but ya never know. Are Clay and AD still together now, you’re wondering? After a thorough investigation, here are my findings and suspicions.

Right from the start, Clay gave off player energy and openly admitted it, too. Throughout the season, he’s expressed concerns about his ability to stay faithful to someone and not hide behind his “suave” exterior. And of course, AD nearly ended things when he demanded to know what she looked like. After they worked through all of that, they struggled to navigate the real world together. AD didn’t feel like Clay was prioritizing her or making time for her.

AD Recently Called Clay A “Walking Red Flag”

Now, this is not a great sign. During a February interview with Us Weekly, AD did not give the kindest description of Clay. “Oh my gosh, Clay is a walking red flag,” she said. “I mean, from the moment I met him, it was [like], ‘red flag, red flag.’ When he wanted to know about the physical and what I looked like, I think that was very telling and a huge red flag.”

When Clay chatted with the magazine about her, he was singing a different tune. “Yeah, AD is awesome,” he said. “She’s awesome.” Hmm. It’s giving one-sided.

AD And Clay’s Social Media Activity Might Give A Hint About Their Status

While Clay has liked the large majority of AD’s Insta posts over the last several months, she’s liked only a select few of his. Not to mention, neither of them have posted a romantic, Amy-and-Johnny-esque giveaway caption. If I had to make an expert guess here, I’d say Clay’s “red flag” qualities got in the way of the romance. But we’ll just have to keep watching this insane show to find out!
