The streets are saying some truly crazy things these days. Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter collaborating on a song in the year of our lord 2024?? It can’t be… but also, what if it can be? Pop girls do seem to be working it out on the remix, and an Olivia x Sabrina hit would undoubtedly break the internet and dominate the Grammys.
You may recall that both former Disney queens allegedly dated a curly-haired young Disney king named Joshua Bassett, which led to the most influential pop star love triangle scandal of Gen Z’s time. Olivia referenced Sabrina — “that blonde girl” — in “driver’s license” and “deja vu,” and Sabrina seemingly responded to Olivia and chronically online haters in “Skin” and “because I liked a boy.” Meanwhile, Joshua was busy becoming a serious Christian, but that’s another story.
A pop culture Twitter account started this new Olivia and Sabrina music rumor, and now, it’s spreading like wildfire on all social media platforms. So, are Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter actually collabing? I’ve never stanned two women more than I stan these two, so here’s my informed and helpful take on the matter.
What To Know About The Olivia And Sabrina Collab Rumor
Are Olivia And Sabrina Coming Out With A Song Together?
For now, the Olivia and Sabrina collab is just an unfounded rumor started by the Twitter account, @21metgala, and embraced by lots of excited TikTokers (and me). “Rumors suggest that Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter are discussing a possible collaboration,” @21metgala reported. So, there’s no Olivia and Sabrina song currently in existence, but the ladies are allegedly talking about getting in the studio. I’ll take it.

Sadly for us, neither pop star has ever spoken publicly about a collab. It’s probably too soon for that… Charli XCX and Lorde took, like, 10 years to work it out on the remix, and Taylor Swift and Katy Perry took about five years to work it out in the bizarre “You Need To Calm Down” music video. I’m holding out hope for a chart-topping Olivia and Sabrina collab within the next decade.
At the moment though, the singers appear to be living separate lives. (To be fair, they’re two of the most booked and busy people on the planet.) They don’t follow each other on Instagram, they haven’t been photographed together, and they don’t tend to post about each other’s work. That said, they were spotted chatting at the 2022 Met Gala, so you never know.
All I know is: I ride for you, Olivia and Sabrina.
