Some divas are just born for the stage, and Rumi Carter is most definitely one of those divas. This doesn’t come as a shock, considering her mother is thee Mother of our time, Beyoncé. Plus, Rumi’s big sister, Blue Ivy Carter, has been crushing it on stage alongside her mom for years now. To say “talent runs in the family” would obviously be a gross understatement.

Rumi’s mostly stayed out of the spotlight so far, which is understandable, considering she’s only been on the planet for a few years. In a September 2024 interview with GQ, Beyoncé opened up about prioritizing her kids’ privacy. “One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand,” she shared at the time, adding, “I have made an extreme effort to stay true to my boundaries and protect myself and my family

Last night though, Rumi got to enjoy the spotlight, making her stage debut on the opening night of the Cowboy Carter Tour in Los Angeles. She wore a sparkly gold dress and matching cowboy boots for the special occasion, and joined her mom on stage during “Protector.” (Rumi’s actually featured on the track, asking, “Mom, can I hear the lullaby, please?” right at the beginning.)
