The movie adaption of Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel of the same name just hit theaters five minutes ago, but the rumored cast drama is already approaching Don’t Worry, Darling levels. In case you somehow managed to miss it, the entire It Ends With Us cast and Colleen appear to be feuding with Justin Baldoni, who stars as Ryle and directed the film. None of them follow him on Instagram, and Justin and the cast have been doing totally separate promo tours for the movie. Not to mention, Blake and the other cast members have completely avoided any questions about Justin so far. It’s undeniably odd.

On August 14, TMZ reported that Justin made Blake feel “uncomfortable” while they were filming. According to their sources, the Gossip Girl alum felt “fat-shamed” by him. Per the report, there is a scene where Justin lifts Blake into the air, and he has a history of back problems, so he wanted to prepare with his on-set trainer beforehand. The sources say Justin asked his trainer how much Blake weighed and how he could train to protect his back. Blake allegedly felt fat-shamed when she found out about his concern and comments.

TMZ’s insiders also claim that there was Blake felt like Justin “lingered longer than he should have” when they were filming a kissing scene. Hmmm.

That all being said, several anonymous sources have been sharing different insights about what happened on this seemingly cursed set. Insiders told Deadline that Justin and Blake just didn’t get along at all, “much in the way people who work together in a daily job, also don’t get along.” The article also noted that there’s been “chatter” about Blake “taking charge in the editing room.” A source from Sony even told the outlet, “I wish she worked for us full-time.” I feel like there’s a subtle Justin diss there, considering he was the director.

Justin opened up about tension on set himself during a new interview with Elle U.K. “There are all these things that happen every day on set, there’s always friction that happens when you make a movie like this,” he said. “Then at the end of the day, it’s that friction, I believe, that creates the beautiful art. Everything in life needs friction to grow.” It seems like maybe not everyone in the cast has such a positive outlook on whatever “friction” occurred.

According to The Hollywood Reporter‘s sources, the alleged Blake and Justin conflict went down during the post-production stage. Multiple insiders claimed that there were two different cuts of the movie because Blake commissioned one from Shane Reid, an editor on Deadpool & Wolverine.

A Blake and Justin argument over different versions of the movie makes sense, considering how differently they’re talking about the film during interviews. (TikTokers have praised Justin for centering domestic violence in his promo, and Blake is getting criticism for treating the movie like a rom-com.) But why is the entire cast not doing promo with Justin or following him on Instagram? I guess the TMZ “fat-shaming” report could explain that, but I need to know more.
