Okay, it’s officially official: Adam Brody and Leighton Meester are my fave Hollywood couple to ship. They’ve been together forever, slaying the red carpet in 2025, and are now working together (again) on the second season of his hit Netflix show Nobody Wants This. Yes, thee Gossip Girl romcom cutie and low-key popstar has signed on to film a guest star role for the Foster sisters’ dramedy, and according to the show’s creators, Leighton’s character is comedy gold. It’s little surprise that Leighton is bringing the laughs given the comedic timing after six seasons of Blair Waldorf’s incomparable one-liners, but I still needed to know all the tea about Leighton’s fictional Netflix persona, ASAP. Leighton plays a Los Angeles momfluencer named Abby, who also happens to be Joanne’s (Kristen Bell’s character) “middle school nemesis.” Okay, I’m obsessed with this feud already because Leighton has serious expertise in the arena of portraying a spicy frenemy, and KBell’s betchy sass was my favorite part of The Good Place. Since Abby met Joanne back in her middle school days, this means Abby probs also has an interesting dynamic with Joanne’s sister Morgan, who Justine Lupe brilliantly plays.

Since Leighton’s character, Abby, is Insta-famous, and Joanne has a popular podcast, there are a million ways that Abby could’ve come back into Joanne’s life. I’m betting it has to do with arguing over clout on social media.
So far, we also know that Leighton’s character provides comedic relief through her beef with Joanne because show creator Erin Foster described Leighton’s work as “comedic genius” and “so funny.” In fact, Erin said that Leighton “blew their minds” so much so that they’re considering expanding her role into more episodes, which, who knows, could lead to a season 3 reappearance (if s3 gets greenlit).

No, Joanne and Noah are still together on season 2 (though we can ofc expect them to go through many more growing pains because that’s how TV shows work).
That being said, if Abby is a jealous mama (why do I have a feeling she is), I’m sure she’ll try to flirt with Noah, and it will be v funny to see Adam and Leighton’s chemistry flipped on its head.
