The pop icon and the beloved NFL tight end announced on August 26 with a romantic Instagram post featuring photos of Travis popping the question. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Taylor wrote in her caption.

Ever since Taylor showed up to her first Kansas City Chiefs game and cheered on her beau from the stands, it just seemed like these two very tall, very talented individuals were soulmates. From their post-Super Bowl makeout season to all their extravagant NYC date nights to Taylor crowning Travis “The Guy On The Chiefs” during her Eras Tour performances of “Karma,” they’ve already had so many epic couple moments. And now, they’re getting ready for a lifetime together filled with a bazillion more. I hope you’re all prepared for approximately 15 or 20 albums about this man. Travis Kelce Proposal Details

Travis popped the question in a picturesque garden filled with dreamy pink and white roses. Apparently, the stunning garden is part of his Missouri property, so it was an at-home proposal.

In an interview with News 5 Cleveland, Travis’ dad, Ed Kelce, spilled all the proposal tea. “He was going to put it off till this week,” Ed revealed. “I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event.” He noted that the proposal happened “not quite two weeks ago.” (I have to assume Travis proposed on August 13…)

Taylor and Travis were on their way to dinner and stopped to have a glass of wine outside. That’s when the Chiefs player got down on one knee.

Taylor Swift’s Ring

In Taylor’s post, there’s a close-up of her ginormous diamond ring. Benjamin Khordipour at Estate Diamond Jewelry revealed all the details: “Taylor Swift was proposed to with a stunning elongated antique cushion-cut diamond that is approximately eight carats, F color, and VS1 clarity,” he said. “The ring was handcrafted in 18k yellow gold and the center diamond is set with needle point prongs that perfectly match the antique style.” He estimates the price of the ring to be about $550,000.

If you’ve listened to even a fraction of Taylor’s discography, you know that she’s been dreaming about marriage for a long time. She hints at wanting to get married in several of her songs, including “Love Story,” “Paper Rings,” “Lover,” and “You’re Losing Me.”

Back in 2012, Taylor told The Hollywood Reporter that she wanted to get married and have kids. “I need that unexplainable spark,” she said at the time. “It’s only happened a few times in my life, but I feel like if I was gonna be with someone forever, it would be because I saw them and I thought, oh no.” She also said that she could see herself “being a mom full-time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them, one day, for sure.” I dare say she and Travis have an extraordinarily powerful “unexplainable spark.”

Last year, Travis brought up having kids during a New Heights podcast conversation with his brother while they were joking about NBA player Victor Wembanyama’s 7-foot-4 height. “That’s a lab-grown fucking NBA player,” Travis quipped. “Can’t wait ‘til I fucking make one.” Jason laughed and quickly warned his brother against starting rumors.
