You bet your bottom dollar that if I ever get to the Golden Globes you will find me, in my gorgeous custom Versace gown with a loaned Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace, talking shit with my friends. At the end of the day, it literally doesn’t matter where I am and what I’m wearing, I’m just happiest gossiping. So imagining myself in this year’s Golden Globe Gossip Sesh heard ‘round the world, I like to picture myself washing my hands in the bathroom next to Taylor Swift’s thirsty plus one Keleigh Teller saying, “love your dress… wait, so like, what were you guys talking about? I could feel that weird vibe in the air, too!” If you’re feeling lost, don’t worry. Let’s break down what Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift were gossiping about at the Golden Globes.
So during a commercial break at the Golden Globes, Selena went over to talk to bff Taylor Swift and Miles Teller’s Swifty wife. The camera person in charge of getting these shots clearly has a sixth sense and deserves a substantial raise because we got this moment ON FILM. The internet is in agreement that no, they weren’t talking about getting burgers with Travis and Benny after the show, but they were (seemingly) talking shit about Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet. This is Hollywood, baby!! This is why we do what we do!!!
According to a lipreader on Twitter, here’s how the conversation went:
Selena: I asked for a picture with him and she [Kylie] said NO.

Selena: *nods*

Seriously, though. This type of interaction is the drama I live for. Obviously, they could be talking about anything, but the idea that the entire internet is grasping for straws trying to turn this into something huge between Selena and Kylie is *chef’s kiss.* We love to see it.
And the whole idea that there’s possible beef between Kylie and Selena isn’t so far fetched. TBT when last year, Selena and Kylie had drama after Kylie was accused of mocking Selena on IG. The iconic battle, known now as Eyebrow Gate, started when Selena posted a TikTok saying she “accidentally laminated her brows too much.” Then, hours later, Kylie shared a photo of her eyebrows on an IG story while FaceTiming with Selena’s “nemesis” Hailey Bieber with the caption “this was an accident???”
The internet went into a tizzy over this for a brief time before Kylie shut it down, writing in the comments on TikTok: “this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly.” Selena responded at the time with “Agreed @kyliejenner It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”

At the end of the day, these award shows are no different than a high school football game. There’s always going to be a girl from another school to talk shit about!! While we won’t know for *certain* what was said, we can assume there will be a public statement prettyyyyy soon!
Update: We did indeed get a public statement from Camp Selena! An exclusive statement to PEOPLE reads: “Despite rampant speculation, Selena Gomez was not gossiping about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner at Golden Globes with her close friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Sperry.”
Also, Timmy got caught by TMZ and denied that there was any bad blood going on. It was fun to speculate while it lasted!
